Breweries in Minneapolis aren’t hard to find. But is it overkill, of course not. I don’t think there is such a thing when it comes to locally brewed beer. They all manage to bring a unique line of products that keep the locals coming back for more. The best part is that for the most part they all seem to support each other, and the result is a city full of delicious hand-crafted beer. Now there are plenty in the Twin Cities area, but this is our list just for Minneapolis.
Bauhaus Brew Labs
Opened in the spring of 2014, the Minneapolis beer sanctuary is known for its German lagers and incredible taproom. Located in the northeast Minneapolis area, Bauhaus has quickly become one of the top dogs in the local beer space. Not only do they have great beer, they are simply one of the best hangouts in all of Minneapolis. There headquarters are tucked away in a quiet space, away from the hustle and noise of any highways. They have live music, food trucks, and a patio equipped with lawn games and a separate dog patio with water for our four legged friends. Looking for a happy hour spot, local craft beer, or just a relaxed night? This Minneapolis favorite is perfect for you.
612Brew
Four years after its grand-opening in 2013, 612Brew has become a local favorite and helps put Minneapolis on the map as a serious Brewery city. It should be noted that back in 2013, 612Brew was part of the wave of taprooms and breweries opening in the Twin Cities. As a leader in the Minneapolis beer scene, they continue to grow and expand with an expansive list of special and seasonal brews, there is something for all beer lovers here.
Indeed Brewing Company and Taproom
This place never fails for a good brew if you find yourself in Downtown Minneapolis. Indeed Brewing is known for their extremely wide array of beers that they offer at their local taproom. It is also good to note that they offer a great tour of their brewing operations, which can add to your experience and connection to the local brew.
Fulton Brewing Company
We Couldn’t make a list without including this place. They were the first full taproom in Minneapolis back in 2012 and since then they have grown so much that they opened a secondary location in northeast Minneapolis. Their first location a stone’s throw away from target field in Minneapolis, this makes it the spot for a beer before a baseball game. Fulton often gets overlooked today simply because they have been around for so long compared the new craft-beer breweries popping up all over the Twin Cities and Metro area. They have grown so much as a brand, expanding their retail reach to a national level has made them a household name. But it always important to remember them as they started out in our very own Minneapolis, where they continue to operate their business in two different locations.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, there are so many beer companies in this areas, big and small. So get out there and enjoy all of the breweries and taprooms that Minneapolis is host to, and try to find your favorite.
